1N4148 VS 1N4448

The 1N4448 can handle roughly 500mA, but the  1N4148  can only manage 200mA. At 1 Volt maximum, the forward voltage under load is nearly identical.

Most of the general-purpose switching diodes are made with the same wafer process with a little tweet and difference measurement parameters and screening parameters.

Technically, 1N4448 and  1N4148 are identical, but the current handling standards differ.

The package DO35 is technically limited in terms of current (power) handling. If 1N4448 can tolerate 500mA, 1N4148 can as well.
