Where to Use 2SC828 Transistor

The 2SC828 is a BJT transistor that can be utilized for a variety of applications. The transistor can function as both a switch and an amplifier. It can handle a load of up to 100mA when used as a switch. When driving other components in an electrical circuit, 100mA is a reasonable amount of current. When used as an amplifier, though, it can deliver 400mW and has a maximum DC gain of 520. Different DC gain values are available, which may be determined by glancing at the final alphabet following the transistor number. If the last alphabet is “Q” the transistor gain will be 130 to 260, if “R” the gain will be 180 to 360 and if “S” then the gain will be 260 to 520, therefore you can choose it according to your requirements.

For example, it can be used to drive LEDs, ICs, relays, high power transistors, microcontrollers, etc. It can also be used at the output of low current devices such as ICs whose output current is low. Moreover, it can also be used in the circuits of audio preamplifiers and amplifiers.

 

How to Use 2SC828 Transistor

The 2SC828 transistor is used in low-side switching in this example circuit. The 2SC828 NPN transistor is used to turn on and off a load. The control on/off signal is sent to this switching circuit via the transistor's base terminal. The transistor does not activate when an active low signal is applied to the base terminal, and the linked load remains off. Similarly, when an active high control signal is applied to the base pin of a 2SC828 NPN transistor, it switches on and the transistor's switching route from V+ to ground completes, turning on the load.
