Where to use BC560

The BC560 is a general-purpose low noise and high gain transistor. It can perform well in many types of audio preamplifier applications, audio amplifier circuits, audio amplifier circuit stages, and in small-signal amplification such as a digital signal or an RF signal ( RF signal under 150 MHz ) and any other small electronic signal amplifications. Other than that it can be used as a switch to drive load under -100mA.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is BC560?
The BC560 is a general-purpose transistor mainly used to drive loads under 100mA as it carries a collector current of 100mA. It falls under the category of PNP transistors and is mainly used for amplification and switching purposes.
2.How can a PNP transistor be used as a switch?
For a PNP transistor, the Emitter potential must be positive with respect to the Base. Then the transistor operates as a “single-pole single-throw” (SPST) solid-state switch. With a zero signal applied to the base of the transistor, it turns “OFF” acting like an open switch and zero collector current flows.
3.How to safely long run BC560 in a circuit?
For the long-life performance of BC560, some main points should be kept in mind when designing a circuit. For good safety, we suggest using all components 20% below its max ratings, and the same applies to BC560. The max collector current of the transistor is -100mA therefore does not drive a load of more than 80mA. The max collector-emitter voltage is -45V therefore do not drive a load of more than 36V and always store or use this transistor in temperature above -65 degrees centigrade and below +150 degrees centigrade.
