CD4046BE is part of the CD4000 IC family. A low-power, linear voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a source follower, a Zener diode, and two-phase comparators make up the CD4046BE micropower phase-locked loop (PLL). A common signal input and a common comparator input are shared by two-phase comparators. For a big voltage signal, the signal input can be directly coupled, or for a small voltage signal, the signal input can be capacitively coupled to the self-biasing amplifier. With a stabilized linear output, the IC has a wide range of properties, including strong noise immunity and low-frequency drift.
