What is a DS18S20 Temperature Sensor?

The DS18S20 digital thermometer measures temperatures in 9-bit Celsius and offers a nonvolatile alarm function with user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. Where to Use DS18S20

DS18S20 is a high-precision 1-wire digital thermometer. It's commonly used to detect the temperature in harsh settings like chemical solutions, mines, and soil, among other things. The sensor's construction is tough, and it may also be ordered with a waterproof variant, making installation simple. It has a good accuracy of 5°C and can measure a wide range of temperatures from -55°C to +125°C. Each sensor has its address and only uses one MCU pin to transport data, making it an excellent choice for sensing temperature at various locations without sacrificing too many of your microcontroller's digital pins.

The circuit diagram for the DS18S20 interface is shown below. In parasite power mode, it isn't used. As a result, 5-volt electricity is supplied externally. The DS18S20 is connected to port D's pin zero. PORT D pin zero is used to communicate with a digital thermometer over a single wire. Temperature is displayed on a 162 LCD. Temperature is displayed using an LCD connected to a pic microcontroller.
