The EV1527 code's structure is critical. A 20-bit code is followed by four-bits that identify the button on each remote. Because of this binding, the ability to correlate different buttons on a transmitter with different modes on the same receiver is limited. One button mode receiver processing may override an existing condition, such as a latched ON being overridden by a momentary ON/OFF.
The multi-channel modules may operate differently; they appear to pick the relay to be controlled using the button identification, and the 20bit code is committed to the mode (ie a particular controller is committed to one mode and the buttons select the relay).
I see that the firmware looks to have flaws, however, this could be due to the firmware's interpretation of 20bit and 4bit codes, as well as the way it stores and searches codes.
On the PCB, there is a 'LEARN' momentary button that is used to program the device in conjunction with the remote transmitter.
