The KSZ8721BL is a 10BASE-T /100BASE-TX/FX Physical Layer Transceiver that employs MII and RMII interfaces to send and receive data. It has a 2.5V core to fulfill low-voltage and low-power requirements.
Physical Medium Attachment (PMA), Physical Medium Dependent (PMD), and Physical Coding Sub-layer (PCS) functionalities are all included in 10BASE-T.
On-chip 10BASE-T output filtering is also included in the KSZ8721BL. This eliminates the need for external filters and allows for the use of a single pair of line magnetics to suit both 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T standards.
Using an on-chip auto-negotiation algorithm, the KSZ8721BL L automatically configures itself for 100 or 10Mbps and full-duplex or half-duplex operation.
For 100BASE-TX/10BASE-T applications, it is the optimal physical layer transceiver.
