The KSZ8863RLL is a highly integrated 3-port switch-on-a-chip IC with the smallest footprint in the industry. It's intended to enable a new generation of 10/100 Mbps to switch systems with fewer ports, lower costs, and lower power consumption. These devices are suited for IPTV, IP -STB, VoIP, automotive, and industrial applications because of their low power consumption, intelligent power management, and complex QoS features (such as IP v6 priority classification support).
The KSZ8863RLL is designed to fulfill today's switch systems ' GREEN requirements. Software power down, per port power down, and energy detect mode, which shuts off the transceiver when a port is idle, are examples of advanced power management systems.
The KSZ8863RLL also has a bypass mode that saves power at the system level. The processor attached to the switch through the MII interface can be turned off in this mode.
