LM358AP Description

LM358AP consists of two independent, high-gain frequency-compensated operational amplifiers designed to operate from a single supply or split supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from split supplies also is possible if the difference between the supplies is 3 V to 32 V, and VCC is at least 1.5 V more positive than the input common-mode voltage. The low supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the supply voltage. Applications include transducer amplifiers, DC amplification blocks, and all the conventional operational amplifier circuits that now can be implemented more easily in single-supply-voltage systems. For example, these devices can be operated directly from the standard 5-V supply used in digital systems and easily can provide the required interface electronics without additional ±5V supplies.

LM358AP Features

• Wide supply ranges

– Single supply: 3 V to 32 V

– Dual supplies: ±1.5 V to ±16 V

• Low supply-current drain, independent of supply voltage: 0.7 mA (typical)

• Wide unity-gain bandwidth: 0.7 MHz

• Common-mode input voltage range includes ground, allowing direct sensing near the ground

• Low input bias and offset parameters

– Input offset voltage: 3 mV (typical)

– Input offset current: 2 nA (typical)

– Input bias current: 20 nA (typical)

• Differential input voltage range equal to maximum-rated supply voltage: 32 V

• Open-loop differential voltage gain: 100 dB (typical)

• Internal frequency compensation

• On products compliant to MIL-PRF-38535, all parameters are tested unless otherwise noted. On all other products, production processing does not necessarily include testing of all parameters.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.Is the LM358 the same as LM358AP?
A letter after the part number usually means it is a slightly improved version of the one without a letter.
2.What is the voltage gain of LM358 IC?
It has large dc voltage gain of 100dB. This IC can be operated on wide range of power supply from 3V to 32V for single power supply or from ±1.5V to ±16V for dual power supply and it also support large output voltage swing.
3.Can a split power supply be used in LM358?
Single power supply will be required to operate both op-amps in LM358. We can also use a split power supply. The device has low power supply voltage. LM358 IC can also be used as transducer standard operational amplifier and it is suitable for our needs.
4.What is LM358 IC?
The device has low power supply voltage. LM358 IC can also be used as transducer standard operational amplifier and it is suitable for our needs. It can handle voltage from 3V to 32V DC supply and current up to 20mA per channel. It consists of 8 pins which contains two operational amplifiers.
5.What is the difference between LM324 and LM358?
LM358 is a dual op-amp IC integrated with two op-amps powered by a common power supply. It can be considered as one half of LM324 Quad op-amp which contains four op-amps with common power supply. The differential input voltage range can be equal to that of power supply voltage.
