LM5166DRCR Description

The LM5166DRCR is a 3-V to 65-V ultra-low IQ synchronous buck converter with great efficiency over a wide range of input voltage and load current. Up to 500 mA of output current can be provided using integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs at fixed output voltages of 3.3 V or 5 V, or an adjustable output voltage. The converter is intended to make implementation as simple as possible while also giving choices for optimizing performance for the target application.

For best light-load efficiency, the pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode is chosen, or constant on-time (COT) control is chosen for a nearly constant operating frequency. Both control techniques provide outstanding line and load transient response and quick PWM on-time for high step-down conversion ratios while requiring no loop correction.
