What is LT3080?

The LT3080 is a 1.1A low-dropout linear regulator with an integrated ballast resistor that allows devices to be directly paralleled without the use of PC board trace resistors. Multiple devices can be paralleled directly on a surface mount board thanks to the integrated ballast resistor, allowing for larger output current and power dissipation while keeping the board layout simple and uncomplicated. When utilized with numerous input sources, the device brings out the collector of the pass transistor, allowing for low dropout operation (down to 350mV).
