LTC3780 Description

The LTC3780 is a high-efficiency, synchronous, 4-switch buck-boost controller. 

 

It can work at an input voltage higher, lower than or equal to the output voltage. 

 

The working mode of the controller is determined by the FCB pin. 

 

For boost operation, the FCB mode pin can select burst mode operation, discontinuous mode and forced continuous mode. 

 

During the buck operation, the FCB mode pin can select skip cycle mode, discontinuous mode and forced continuous mode. 

 

Burst mode operation and skip cycle mode provide high efficiency operation under light load, while forced continuous mode and discontinuous mode operate at a constant frequency. 

 

The controller is suitable for battery charging operations in automotive, telecommunications and battery-powered systems.
