MMBT2222A Description

MMBT2222A is an NPN transistor hence the collector and emitter will be left open (Reverse biased) when the base pin is held at the ground and will be closed (Forward biased) when a signal is provided to the base pin.

The maximum gain value of the MMBT2222A is 300, which determines the transistor's amplification capacity. Because the Collector pin can only carry 600mA of continuous current and 800mA of peak current, we can't connect loads that use more than 600mA of continuous current and 800mA of peak current. We must feed current to the base pin to bias a transistor; this current (IB) should be limited to 5mA with a base-emitter voltage of 6V. The maximum voltage across the load that is getting switched is 40V.
