OP07 Description

The OP07 is a very high precision op-amp with an offset voltage maximum of 150µV. Offering also low input current (1.8nA) and high gain (400V/mV), the OP07C is particularly suitable for instrumentation applications.

OP07 Feature

  • The input offset voltage is very low. The maximum input offset voltage for OP07E is 75µV

  • The range for the input voltage is ±14 V

  • The range for supply voltage is from ±3 V to ±18 V CMRR is high. For OP07E, it is 106 dB

  • It has high input impedance and provides a low-noise operation

OP07 Application

  • A wireless base station and optical networks

  • Strain bridges

  • Instrumentation

  • Shunt current measurements

  • Resistor thermal detectors (RTDs)

  • Sensors and controls

  • Thermocouples

  • Precision filters

  • TL081

  • RC4558

  • NJM4560

Where to Use OP07?

Although the OP07  IC has a low input bias current and a large open-loop gain, it does not compromise gain accuracy and preserves linearity. These characteristics make the OP07  IC suitable for high-gain instrumentation applications.

How to Use OP07?

To use the OP07  chip, turn it on by connecting the voltage supply. Depending on the application, it can run on a single supply or a dual supply. It has a maximum voltage rating of 22 volts. A voltage supply that is higher than this can irreversibly harm the chip. When both inputs of an operational amplifier are grounded, they should produce zero output, yet the inverting and non-inverting inputs are at different potentials in actuality.

Mismatched collector currents, current gain, collector resistor, emitter resistor, and other factors could be to blame. As a result, the OP07 provides two input offset pins that can be used to change the offset voltage via external circuitry to correct these mismatches. Normally, a  resistor or a potentiometer is connected between these input pins. You can set the desired value by altering the resistance of a potentiometer. The potentiometer is mostly used in applications where accurate offset control is required. The output voltage of the OP07 amplifier is limited to 12 V by the internal circuit. The circuit for setting input offset voltage is shown below.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does OP07 mean?
The OP07 is available in two standard performance grades. The OP07E is specified for operation over the 0°C to 70°C range, and the OP07C is specified over the −40°C to +85°C temperature range. The OP07 is available in epoxy 8-lead PDIP and 8-lead narrow SOIC packages.
What is the offset voltage of the OP07?
These low offset voltages generally eliminate any need for external nulling. The OP07 also features low input bias current (±4 nA for the OP07E) and high open-loop gain (200 V/mV for the OP07E). The low offsets and high open-loop gain make the OP07 particularly useful for high gain instrumentation applications.
Is the datasheet OP07 reliable?
Data Sheet OP07. Rev. G. Information furnished by Analog Devices is believed to be accurate and reliable. However, no responsibility is assumed by Analog Devices for its use, nor for any infringements of patents or other rights of third parties that may result from its use.
What are the dimensions of the op07x precision operational amplifiers?
