OPA548 Description

The OPA548 device is a low-cost, high-voltage and 1 high-current operational amplifier that's ideal for driving a wide variety of loads. A laser-trimmed monolithic integrated circuit provides excellent lowlevel signal accuracy and high-output voltage and current. The OPA548 device operates from either single or dual supplies for design flexibility. In single-supply operation, the input common-mode range extends below ground. The OPA548 device is internally protected against over-temperature conditions and current overloads. In addition, the OPA548 device was designed to provide an accurate, user-selected current limit. Unlike other designs, which use a power resistor in series with the output current path, the OPA548 device senses the load indirectly. This allows the current limit to be adjusted from 0 A to 5 A with a resistor andpotentiometer or controlled digitally with a voltage-out or current-out DAC.

OPA548 Manufacturer

Texas Instruments (TI) is an American technology company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, which designs and manufactures semiconductors and various integrated circuits, and sells them to electronic designers and manufacturers worldwide. It is one of the top 10 semiconductor companies in global sales. The company focuses on the development of analog chips and embedded processors, which account for more than 80% of its revenue. TI also produces TI digital light processing technology and educational technology products, including calculators, microcontrollers and multi-core processors. As of 2016, the company has 45,000 patents worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is a power operational amplifier? Is it a power amplifier or an operational amplifier or a combination of the two?
The so-called power operational amplifier is an operational amplifier with larger output power, such as OPA547, OPA569, OPA548 and so on.
2.Why is the voltage automatically increased after the stabilized power supply is connected to the circuit (constant current source circuit, used OPA548)?
The stabilized voltage source is equivalent to a power supply with small internal resistance. Theoretically, it can be considered that the internal resistance is 0 and can provide infinite current; the constant current source is just the opposite. It is a power supply with large internal resistance and theoretically the internal resistance is infinite. The voltage is infinitely high. Of course, in fact, there is neither an ideal regulated source nor an ideal constant current source. However, it can be seen that after the constant current source is connected to the constant current source, it is not the voltage of the constant current source that increases, but the constant current source outputs a high voltage. If you don't want to increase the voltage, just give the constant current source a current path, that is, connect a load resistor in parallel with the constant current source.
3.What is the package of the OPA548 operational amplifier? Can its output voltage and current meet the maximum 12V/3A demand?
Look at the package picture, its maximum power supply voltage is plus or minus 30V, and the maximum output current is 5A, which can fully meet your requirements, but remember to add a heat sink!
