PIC16F876 Description

There is a newer gadget available. Please think about the PIC16F876. This CMOS FLASH-based 8-bit microcontroller, which packs Microchip's powerful PIC® architecture into a 28-pin package and is upwards compatible with the PIC16C5X, PIC12CXXX, and PIC16C7X devices, is powerful (200 nanosecond instruction execution) yet easy-to-program (only 35 single word instructions).

The PIC16F876 has 256 bytes of EEPROM data memory, self-programming, an ICD, 5 channels of 10-bit A/D converter, 2 additional timers, 2 capture/compare/PWM functions, an asynchronous serial port that can be configured as either a 3-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPITM) or a 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2CTM) bus, and a Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (USART). All of these characteristics make it appropriate for higher-level A/D applications in the automotive, industrial, appliance, and consumer markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.I made a circuit with PIC16F876 and used an external crystal oscillator, but it doesn’t oscillate when I get old. I don’t know what the problem is?
The crystal oscillator cannot vibrate due to the crystal oscillator itself and the circuit board. The ceramic crystal oscillator and the metal crystal oscillator are connected differently.
2.How does PIC16F876 access the array float A[100] in the program memory?
Only constants can be placed in the program memory, and the data can be read by a look-up table. This array is programmed into the program register along with the program. After writing the program, it cannot be modified (read-only). Because the program is also in the program memory, the program cannot modify the information in its own area. If you want to manipulate this data, you can only expand a flash chip externally and use it as an externally expanded data memory.
3.Does PIC16F876 have pull-up resistors?
Although the RB port has a pull-up resistor inside the microcontroller, it is used for input. When you set the port as an output, the pull-up resistor will not work. You can refer to the datasheet. Generally, you don’t need to add a pull-up resistor when RB is used as an output. resistance. The problem may be that your configuration bit is not set properly. It can be set in programming or IDE. 4M crystal oscillator should be set to XT, 8M crystal oscillator should be set to HS (high-speed oscillation), and low-voltage programming bit (LVP) should also be set. To be turned off.
