REG710NA-3/250 Description

The REG710NA-3/250 is a switched capacitor voltage converter that converts an unregulated input voltage to a regulated, low-ripple output voltage. The REG710NA-3/250 is suited for a variety of battery sources, including single cell Li-Ion, two and three cell nickel- or alkaline-based chemistries, thanks to its wide input supply voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V.

The output voltage will stay balanced even if the input voltage varies above or below the output voltage. It provides low EMI DC/DC conversion and can be used for step-up or step-down applications without the use of an inductor. Because of the high switching frequency, compact surface-mount capacitors can be used, saving board space and money. Thermally protected and current limited, the REG710NA-3/250 protects both the load and the regulator under fault situations. With no load, the typical ground pin current (quiescent current) is 65A, and in shutdown mode, it is less than 1A. The REG710NA-3/250 is offered in a tiny TSOT23-6 package with a 5.5V version. All of the other versions come in a tiny SOT23-6 box.
