How to use PIC16F1503?

A wide range of peripherals, including analog and mixed-signal interfaces, are available on the PIC16F1503 microcontroller. Eight external channels on the inbuilt analog to digital converter (ADC) can be mapped to GPIO pins RA0, RA1, RA2, RA4, RC0, RC1, RC2, and RC3. Internally, it can be connected to a voltage reference, a temperature sensor, and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC).

The Microchip PIC16F1503 also includes a 5-bit DAC that can produce 32 different voltage values. The reference voltage can be set in software, and the output can be split into RA0 and RA2 pins. The output can be sent to the ADC or the internal comparators as well. There are two internal comparators, each with rail-to-rail inputs and hysteresis that may be programmed in software. Because this comparator is created using a digital technique, its performance is only minor - a maximum offset of 60mV and a response time of 400ns to 1.2us.
