TPS2557DRBT Description

The TPS2557DRBT power-distribution switch is designed for applications that demand precise current limiting or that include significant capacitive loads and short circuits. These devices have an external resistor that can be used to preset a current-limit threshold between 500 mA and 5.0 A (typ). To minimize current surges during turn on/off, the rise and fall times of the power switch are managed.

When the output load reaches the current-limit threshold, the TPS2557DRBT device switches to a constant-current mode, limiting the output current to a safe level.

During overcurrent and overtemperature conditions, the FAULT logic output asserts low.

  PowerPAD Internally connected to GND; used to heat-sink the part to the circuit board traces. Connect PowerPAD to GND pin externally.
