TPS54340QDDARQ1 Description

The TPS54340QDDARQ1 is a step-down (buck) regulator with an integrated high-side N-channel MOSFET that operates at 42 V and 3.5 A. Constant-frequency current-mode control can be used in the device, which decreases output capacitance and simplifies external frequency adjustment. When selecting output filter components, the wide switching-frequency range of 100 kHz to 2500 kHz provides for either efficiency or size optimization. A resistor to earth attached to the RT/CLK pin is used to modify the switching frequency. The power switch is synchronized to a falling edge of an external clock signal by an internal phaselocked loop (PLL) coupled to the RT/CLK pin.

The default input start-up voltage of the TPS54340QDDARQ1 device is around 4.3 V. By two external resistors, the EN pin controls the input voltage undervoltage lockout (UVLO) threshold.When the EN pin is floating, an internal pull-up current source allows operation. When there is no load, the operating current is 146 A. (not switching). The supply current is 1A when the gadget is turned off.
