Are NPN and PNP transistors interchangeable?
If you remember one simple rule, you can use NPN and PNP transistors interchangeably. A bipolar transistor is made up of two diodes stacked on top of each other, with the base serving as the common connection. An NPN (negative-positive-negative) transistor is on the left, while a PNP (positive-negative-positive) transistor is on the right.
