What is C1740?

The C1740 is an NPN  BJT transistor that comes in TO-92  and TO-92S packages, as well as an E-Line packaging. The TO-92  S, also known as the E-Line package, is a smaller version of the TO-92. The transistor is intended for switching, amplification, and radiofrequency applications in general.

The transistor's maximum collector current is 150 milliamperes, its maximum collector to emitter voltage is 50 volts, its maximum collector dissipation is 300 milliwatts, its minimum and maximum DC  current gain are 120 to 560 milliamperes, and its maximum transition frequency is 100MHz to 180MHz, with some manufacturers using 100MHz and others using 180MHz.
