What is PIC16F628?

The PIC16F628 is an 8-bit CMOS microcontroller with 18 pins and flash memory. A sophisticated RISC architecture is used in this gadget. The PIC16F628 has a more powerful core, an eight-level deep stack, and various interrupt sources, both internal and external.

This PIC16F628 microcontroller is equipped with a 4 MHz internal oscillator, 128 bytes of EEPROM  data memory, a single Capture/Compare/PWM, and a USART module with two comparators. This microcontroller unit supports low-voltage programming.

How to program PIC16F628 CMOS Microcontroller?

  • Components Required:

  1. Two Zener diodes at 5.1V (low Watt).

  2. One 10KΩ resistor (1/4 Watt).

  3. Two 4.7KΩ resistors (1/4 Watt).

  4. One 100μF electrolytic capacitor  (16 Volts).

  5. One 100nF capacitor 

  6. One 7805 voltage regulator (you don’t need any cooler).

  7. One 1N4001 common diode.

  8. One resistor of 270 Ohms (1/4 Watt).

  9. One common green LED.
