RFI and EMI - Shielding and Absorbing Materials

EMI can also affect the performance of electronic devices and systems, leading to malfunctions or data corruption. Shielding and absorbing materials are used to mitigate the effects of RFI and EMI. Shielding materials are designed to block or attenuate electromagnetic waves, preventing them from entering or leaving a specific area. These materials are typically made of conductive metals or alloys, such as copper or aluminum, and are used to create enclosures or barriers around sensitive electronic components or systems. Absorbing materials, on the other hand, are designed to absorb and dissipate electromagnetic waves, reducing their intensity and preventing them from reflecting or bouncing back. These materials are often made of ferrite or other magnetic materials, and they are used to line the inside of enclosures or to cover surfaces where electromagnetic waves may be present. Both shielding and absorbing materials play a crucial role in minimizing the impact of RFI and EMI on electronic devices and systems, ensuring their proper functioning and reliability.
